The Lady Lynx played some “red - and black - hot” tennis during their two-day home event Sept. 7-8, the Lynx Jamboree, as they scorched four of their five opponents by a 9-0 margin. In the lone match Brandon Valley saw defeat, they still dominated the 7-2 victory.
Although the Brandon Valley boys controlled most of Friday’s soccer match against ESD Conference foe, Aberdeen Central, the Lynx couldn’t seem to break the 2-2 tie as time on the game clock expired.
The Watertown Arrows were no match for Brandon Valley Lynx last week, as the Lynx steamrolled to back-to-back softball shutouts Thursday at Aspen Park.
Brandon Valley’s senior players – Jackson Faber and Brody Olivier – guided the Lynx boys Friday at the Yankton Invitational, leading the Lynx to a much-improved fifth-place team finish.
Saturday’s 35-14 Pigskin Classic victory over visiting Aberdeen Central was somewhat of a “redemption” win. And the Golden Eagles paid the price for Brandon Valley’s debut on their new artificial turf.
Brandon Valley’s varsity boys’ soccer team dropped its first two games of the season last week, breaking its win streak folloing a 2-1 loss Saturday to Brookings and 0-1 setback to Yankton Aug. 28.
