Heather Bratland, 53, of Brandon, S.D., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at George Boom Funeral Chapel in Brandon. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at Celebration United Methodist Church in Brandon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for Heather’s grandchildren.
Heather Jo Wicks, daughter of Jerry and Violet (Knaack) Wicks was born April 28, 1970, in Huron, S.D. She graduated from Willow Lake High School with the class of 1988. She later graduated with her degree in Computer Information Systems from Lake Area Tech. Heather was united in marriage to Chad Bratland on Sept. 1, 1990. They were married for almost 20 years and were blessed with sons, Garrett and Cole. Even after their separation, they remained friends.
Darlene J. Eggum, 93, of Sioux Falls died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2023 at her home with her family by her side. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 14 at First Baptist Church in Sioux Falls. Interment will be in the Trent Cemetery, Trent, at a later date.
