The Lady Lynx were clicking on all cylinders Saturday afternoon in their 3-1 defeat of Metro Conference rival, Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Brandon Valley won the Metro Conference match 26-28, 25-19, 25-8, 25-20.
A three-set loss Thursday evening to Huron was Brandon Valley’s quick ending to their 2018 season, as the Tigers coasted to 25-17, 25-9, 25-12 set wins in the SoDak 16 post-season victory.
Senior night can sometimes be an emotional night. And Thursday’s final home volleyball match of the season was filled with a winning kind of emotion, as the Lady Lynx fended off Sioux Falls Lincoln, 3-2.
On a night dedicated to “finding the cure,” the Lady Lynx had no “cure” for the Watertown Arrows, who delivered a three-set ESD Conference loss to Brandon Valley. The Arrows won 25-18, 25-11, 17-25.
The Lady Lynx took Pierre to four sets and battled it out in five against Harrisburg, coming out on the downside last week of both homecoming week matches.
The Lady Lynx were like a well-oiled machine in Tuesday’s Eastern South Dakota Conference home dual 3-0 sweep ofthe visiting Yankton Gazelles. Two days later at Watertown, the host Arrows took their ESD guests to task, 3-0.
It was a rollercoaster-like week for Lady Lynx volleyball, who reeled off a 3-0 road win against the defending state champs, the Harrisburg Tigers on Sept. 11, and two nights later, lost by the same margin to O’Gorman, who sports a 9-1 record to date.
