The height-advantaged O’Gorman Knights took advantage of Brandon Valley’s fourth-quarter shooting slump, as they rolled to a 47-39 Metro Conference girls’ basketball victory Saturday in Brandon.
A trio of student-athletes from three different decades and a pair of bowling teams will be inducted into the Brandon Valley Athletic Hall of Fame this year.
The Lynx bowling teams came away from Friday’s home dual against Sioux Falls Lincoln with mixed results. Brandon Valley’s varsity boys captured the win 45-5 victory, while the Lady Lynx lost both varsity matches, 22-3 and 20-5.
The Lynx boys came away with mixed results from a pair of home games last week. Brandon Valley battled the Washington Warriors to a 62-58 loss on Jan. 16, and two days later they kept Mitchell’s 36-game losing streak intact behind a 66-54 victory.

The Brandon Valley wrestling squad experienced a few setbacks on the mats Saturday when they went up against some of South Dakota’s highest-ranked programs at the Pierre-hosted East-West Duals.
Although Huron’s girls’ basketball team has yet to snag a win this season, the No. 3-ranked Lynx needed a complete team effort to pull off the 60-52 ESD Conference win Friday night at Huron Arena.
