Nancy Ann Hansen, 83, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Sioux Falls. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at St. John’s American Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls. Visitation, with family present, will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 at Anderson Funeral Home in Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. John American Lutheran Choir, Project Car, or REACH Literacy.   Nancy was born on Nov. 15, 1940 in Canton, S.D., to Harry and Genev (Rude) Skaien. She grew up in Canton, graduating from Canton High School in 1958. She later earned a degree from Dakota State University.   Nancy married Michael Hansen in 1961 in Canton. Geoff, Geni, Genetta and Gretchen were born to this union. The couple made their home in Sioux Falls and later moved to Brandon.   In addition to raising her family, Nancy was a former third-grade teacher, reporter for the Brandon Valley Reporter, director of the Girl Scouts, and director of the Sioux Falls Area Literacy Council (now known as REACH Literacy).  

Michael Hansen, 85, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Bella Vista, Ark., after a lengthy illness. 

Jody Swenson, Sioux Falls, and formerly of Brandon/Valley Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Avantara Norton Health Care in Sioux Falls. She was 91.  

Angi Nemmers, of Brandon formerly of Spencer, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls on Thursday July 11, 2024 at the young age of 57. Her family will be present to greet friends for a memorial visitation on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls beginning at 4 p.m. A memorial service celebrating her life will follow her visitation at 6 p.m.  A celebration of life and her burial will take place at a later date in Spencer Iowa. Angela Marie Nemmers was born Feb. 3, 1967 to Mary (Doocy) and Gene Nemmers in Spencer, Iowa. She was lovingly welcomed home by her siblings, Mark, Marcia, Marty and Pat. The same love that has continued her whole life. This love, sometimes shown with poking fun, but always ended with laughter and a hug…eventually. Mary and Gene were very active with Spencer Little League and a lot of Angi’s childhood memories were either at the ballpark or with families from the ballpark.
