Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are canned chicken, pizza sauce and crust, mustard and ketchup, pancake mix and syrup, cake/brownie mix, peanut butter, pudding snack packs, shampoo, body wash, bar soap and laundry detergent.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
BVHS Lynx Power Day is today
Lynx Power Day at Brandon Valley High School is taking place today, Wednesday, Aug. 13. This event allows high school students to pick up class schedules, parking passes, student IDs and laptops, have their school pictures taken, purchase spirit wear and more.
These are the designated times for each class: Seniors, Noon-1 p.m.; Juniors (A-K), 1-1:40 p.m., (L-Z), 1:40-2:20 p.m.; Sophomores (A-K), 2:20-3 p.m., (L-Z), 3-3:40 p.m.; freshmen (A-K), 3:40-4:20, and (L-zZ, 4:20-5 p.m.
Student laptop insurance must be paid prior to the laptop being issued. To pay the fee, visit or may pay by check on Lynx Power Day.

BV Prayer Breakfast is Friday
Tickets are now available for the 17th annual Brandon Area Prayer Breakfast on Friday, Aug. 15 at Brandon Valley High School. A light breakfast is served at 6:30 a.m. in the commons and the program begins at 7 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
Tickets are $10 each or $75 for event sponsorship. All students 18 and under attend free through sponsorship. Admission includes breakfast, prayers for all sectors of the community and a presentation by guest speaker, Chase Hoffman.
Hoffman grew up in Brandon and resides here with his wife, Ashley, and daughter, Finley. A year ago in August, he was involved in a motorcycle versus vehicle accident that resulted in a severe leg injury that threatened amputation above the knee. By the power of God’s grace alone, he is thriving through his recovery.
The event is an endeavor of the Brandon Valley Ministerial Association and its Prayer Breakfast Committee.
Citywide rummage sale registrations due by Friday
Planning on having a rummage sale during Brandon’s Citywide Fall Rummage Sales Aug. 22-23. Friday, Aug. 15 is the deadline to register.
