MCAP seeks directors for 43rd season

Mighty Corson Art Players, a community theatre group based in Corson, is putting out the invitation to interview to direct one of three shows to be performed during the organization’s 43rd season. This season’s shows are The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Humbug and Proof.

The MCAP Board of Directors are accepting interview forms through July 1. Interviews will be conducted in July.

‘What’s Brewing’ 

July 9event is geared

to veterans

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will host “What’s Brewing,” at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9 at the El Riad Shrine, 510 S. Phillips Ave., Sioux Falls. 

The event, which is open to all veterans and their families, will allow veterans to connect with fellow veterans, ask questions about benefits and services, learn about local support and resources, and the opportunity voice concerns.

The Valley Springs Booster Days Parade steps off at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 12. 

 

Pancake breakfast set for July 13 

A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, July 13 at the Valley Springs American Legion. Proceeds will go to parking lot improvements.

 

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pancake syrup, Manwich, pizza sauce, saltine and snack crackers, canned chicken, canned carrots, granola bars, cereal and shampoo.

To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

Register for BVACC Golf Par-Tee

Grab your boots, shine those buckles and get ready to hit some birdies at the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Golf Par-Tee. The Par-Tee is set for Thursday, July 26 at the Brandon Golf Course. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

This year’s theme is “Boots, Buckles & Birdies.”
