Miles for Mutts 5 set for May 3
Anytime Fitness in Brandon is once again organizing Miles for Mutts, a 5K and Family Dog Walk to benefit B-Squad Dog Rescue. The event is Saturday, May 3, with the 5K and Family Dog Walk stepping off at 9 a.m. at Aspen Park.
Registration is $35 per person. Registration opens at 8 a.m. on the day of the event.
Participants may also run the race virtually any time prior to May 3.

Since 2014, B-Squad Dog Rescue has transported more than 9,000 stray and abused dogs to partner rescues across the Midwest. In addition, a small, but mighty army of local foster families help to heal the bodies and souls of dogs in their care while they wait to be adopted by forever families.

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are cereal, saltine crackers, Hamburger Helper, laundry detergent (78 ounces) and Kleenex.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! program at Brandon Library this Saturday
Kids ages 4+ can explore and create with bug-themed activities and crafts at the Brandon Community Library on Saturday, April 26. The Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! program is from 10-11:30 am. No registration is required.
DEA National Take Back Day is Saturday
Brandon residents may bring their unneeded medications for safe disposal to the Brandon Police Department, 304 Main Ave., from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, which is DEA National Take Back Day.
Huset’s Speedway is topic of Sunday’s BHS program
Brandon Historical Society will host their spring historical presentation at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, April 27 at the BVHS Community Room. Huset’s general manager Doug Johnson will speak on the history of the speedway. Refreshments will be served.
Blood Drive at BLC May 6
Brandon Lutheran Church will host a blood drive from noon-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, in the Martin Luther Room.
