BV Hall of Fame banquet is March 29
Four individuals and a boys’ golf team will be inducted into the Brandon Valley Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 29. The event is an endeavor of the Brandon Valley Athletic Booster Club.
The inductees are Casey Rasmussen, Class of 1991, Will Castle, Class of 2008, Allison (Koehn) Guthmiller and Chase Marso, both from the Class of 2013, and the 2014 State Championship Boys Golf team coached by Scott Carroll and Todd Geerdes. Members of the team include Alex Hamer, Riley Duncanson, Greg Koehn, Taylor Fjerestad, Carter Erickson and Jackson Dziedzic.
The Hall of Fame will be held at the Holiday Inn Express in Brandon. Social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by the meal at 7 p.m. and induction program at 7:30.
Tickets ($25) will go on sale March 3, and can be purchased at the BVHS office or call (605) 582-3211.
Brandon Library Book Club meets Feb. 6
A book club for adults is returning to the Brandon Community Library from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. Participants will gather in the conference room to discuss the assigned book.

Saturday’s Legislative Coffee is cancelled
Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce’s planned Legislative Coffee for Saturday, Feb. 8 at Bethany Meadows has been cancelled. District 2 Legislators, Senator Steve Kolbeck and Representatives John Sjaarda and Dave Kull, will be attending the inaugural celebration of Governor Larry Rhoden.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pancake mix, syrup, boxes/envelopes of instant potatoes, small boxes of fruit snacks, Sidedishes (noodles and rice), ketchup, mustard, boxes of individual hot cocoa mix, instant oatmeal, Kleenex and paper towels.

Circuit launches ‘Canned Food’ Drive for BAFP
February is Canned Food month, so Circuit Fitness is conducting a food drive for the Brandon Area Food Pantry this month.
Food goods (all types of canned or packaged goods) can be dropped off at Circuit (1124 E. Holly Blvd.) through Feb. 28. Monday through Friday hours are 5:30-6:15 a.m., 8:30-9:15 a.m. and 3:30-7:30 p.m.
