Family Storytime today at Brandon Branch
Family storytime for children ages birth to 5 and their caregivers are invited to the Brandon Community Library from 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15.
Jan. 16 is soup supper at VS Legion
Valley Springs American Legion will host a soup supper beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. The menu will feature chili, bean and ham, and white chicken chili soups.
A free will offering will be accepted.
Megard to talk on
‘advent of radio
communictions’
Garretson resident Randy Megard will be the guest speaker at the Sunday, Jan. 19 Military History program at the Valley Springs American Legion. The program, which is free and open to the public, begins at 6:30 p.m.
Megard will present, “World War I: The Advent of Radio Communications.”
Refreshments and a time for Q&A will follow the presentation.
‘Snow Much Fun’ event at Brandon
Library on Jan. 25
“Snow Much Fun” is a special event planned for Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Brandon Community Library. The event is from 10-11:30 a.m. and is intended for kids ages K-5. It will offer snow-themed crafts and activities.
BVSD Early
Childhood Screening
is Jan. 30
Brandon Valley School District will conduct its annual Early Childhood Developmental Screening from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Brandon Elementary School.
Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the BVSD. South Dakota School for the Deaf will also be providing free hearing screenings at this time.

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pancake mix, syrup, boxes/envelopes of instant potatoes, small boxes of fruit snacks, Knorr’s Sidedishes (noodles and rice), ketchup, mustard, boxes of individual hot cocoa mix, instant oatmeal, Kleenex and paper towels.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call (605) 582-7001. The BAFP is open 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.
