Parade of Lights caps off Saturday’s holiday festivities in Brandon
Brandon’s 2024 Parade of Lights steps off at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, weather permitting.
No registration is required. Participants are asked to form a single line in the Brandon Valley High School parking lot at 5:30 p.m. where the parade route starts. From there, the parade will head west on Holly Boulevard, and turns south at Main Avenue, ending at the Brandon VFW.
Following the parade, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be at the VFW. Cookies and hot chocolate will also be served. If the parade is cancelled due to weather, Santa and the Mrs. will be at the VFW at 6 p.m.
The event is jointly hosted by Three Rivers VFW Post 4726 and the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce.
MCAP brings holiday mystery to Corson stage
The Mighty Corson Art Players continue their 42nd season with the holiday mystery A Sherlock Carol by Mark Shanahan. The show will be performed over two weekends at the Corson Playhouse: Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 8 and 15 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at mightycorson.com/boxoffice or call (605) 582-2771.
BLC Advent
Luncheon is Dec. 7
Singer, song writer, story teller Amanda Ellison will perform at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. Ellison’s performance follows the Advent Luncheon. Tickets for the luncheon are $10 each and may be purchased by calling the church, (605) 582-3401.
Doors open for the luncheon at 11 a.m. and the program begins at 11:30 a.m., along with raffles and door prizes. A “love gift” will be collected to benefit two families in the community.
Ellison’s performance at 1 p.m. is open to all. A free will donation will be collected.
Risen Savior Cookie Parade is Dec. 8
Risen Savior Catholic Church will host their annual Cookie Parade beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8. Cookies and candies are pre-packaged and/or can be selected. A turkey croissants and soup lunch begins serving at noon.
