308 Consign open house is today

Stop to shop the open house at 308 Consign, 308 E. Holly Blvd., from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. Shoppers will find holiday items, jewelry, art, crafts, photography, and more. Access the open house from the east doors.

 

The Amazing Race is Saturday

Teams of four will be on the move this Saturday in Brandon for The Amazing Race. Starting at 9 a.m. in the Kingbird Coffee parking lot, teams will be tasked with completing challenges at more than 20 participating businesses. The race is limited to 30 teams who will be vying to win cash prizes of $750, $500 and $250.  

 

County schedules series of planning meetings

Minnehaha County residents are invited to one of three 2045 Envision Comprehension Plan Public Engagement meetings scheduled public meetings. The meetings are being held to gather input from residents on their vision for the county’s future.

Dell Rapids City Hall, 317 E. Fourth St., is the first of three meetings. It will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

Brandon City Hall, 304 Main Ave., is the site of the Thursday, Nov. 14 meeting, beginning at 7 p.m.

The final meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Hartford City Hall, 125 N. Main Ave.

 

Final leaf drop-off day is Nov. 16

The last of three free leaf drop-off days sponsored by the city of Brandon is rom 8 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, Brandon city residents may bring bags and cans of leaves and leaf mulch to the McHardy Park parking lot. Marv’s Sanitary Service will have trucks on hand for the leaves and leaf much.

Only leaves, mulch, pumpkins, veggies and garden items will be accepted. No branches, loose leaves or tarps will be accepted.

 

BAFP fundraiser

dinner is Nov. 22

Brandon Area Food Pantry will host its annual fundraiser dinner on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Brandon Golf Course. Social hour (cash bar) begins at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m.

The goal of the 2024 dinner is to give thanks for the many blessings bestowed on the Pantry by the community and to continue giving the Pantry the ability to “feed our neighbors in need.”

Individual tickets are $45 per person or $360 for a table of eight. To sponsor an entrée, side dish or dessert, the cost is $360 and includes two tickets. Nov. 15 is the deadline to purchase tickets.
