The Lynx Way
This week’s installment of “The Lynx Way” is a quick look at the success stories of our Brandon Valley Lynx students.
For starters, it’s National FFA Week, and this Friday, a few “friends from the farm”, namely goats, chicks and a newborn quail will be on display in the BV High School Ag room (138).
The BV boys wrestling team is coming off a second-place finish in the Class A state wrestling tournament, croning nine state medalists, five state finalists and four state champs.
The Lady Lynx wrestling team also had success at their State tournament. Individual medalists included Shaylee Arredondo, Gracie Peters, Leah Nelson, Brenna Reker, Kendall Clayton, and Sally Beal.
The Lynx club bowling teams also did well in their state championships: JV girls finished third at state; the Lady Lynx varsity team claimed sixth; JV1 boys placed fifth at JV State; and the varsity boys nabbed second.
Turning to the arts, Brandon Valley High School Orchestras turned in outstanding performances and strongly represented Brandon Valley at the Festival of Orchestras competition. BVHS Orchestra received a combined score of 95 for a Superior Rating. BV Chamber received a perfect score 100/100 Superior+ rating and a 99 out of a possible 100 score, for an overall 99.5.
