Bortnem selected for sales excellence program at Nebraska

2024 Brandon Valley High School graduate Greyson Bortnem, of Sioux Falls, has been selected for the Undergraduate Certificate in Sales Excellence Program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. With the credential offered by the Center for Sales Excellence, students sharpen communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills sought by employers. Bortnem is a sophomore majoring in construction management.

The 47 new inductees represents nine majors and four colleges. The application process for the program, open to all students at the university, includes submitting a resume and statement of interest and earning a minimum GPA. Once admitted, students begin courses taught by sales and marketing faculty in the College of Business the following semester.

Nearly all students in the program secure jobs before graduation. Companies that have recently hired sales students include Dell, Deloitte, Gallup, HubSpot, Mutual of Omaha, Oracle, Union Pacific and Walt Disney Company. Several corporate partners networked with the new inductees to discuss opportunities and internships before the induction ceremony last month.
