BVHS senior named National Merit finalist, Coca-Cola scholar
Mazzi Moore, a 2025 senior at Brandon Valley High School, is a National Merit Scholarship finalist.
The selection is based on scores from the 2024 preliminary scholastic aptitude test/National Merit Qualifying Test taken as a junior.
The test measures literacy, numeracy and writing skills needed for academic success in college.
As a finalist, Moore provided leadership abilities, employment and honors and awards for finalist consideration.
The scholarship winners will be announced over a four-month period beginning in April.
In addition to being a merit finalist, Moore is also one of 150 high school seniors across the U.S. selected for the Coke Scholars-Select Program and will receive a $20,000 scholarship.
Recipients are also encouraged to lead positive changes in their communities as they advance their educations.
Moore was invited to attend Scholarships Weekend in Atlanta April 3-5, where she attended the awards banquet and participated in the Coca-Cola Scholarships Development Institute,
Moore will also be partnered with a seasoned scholar as she makes the transition to college.
