Aberdeen Central and Yankton traditional have two of the toughest high school wrestling programs in the state, but Brandon Valley had little trouble defeating both the Golden Eagles and Bucks in Friday’s triangular.
Brandon Valley “cleaned house” on the mat against a pair of Sioux Falls rivals, Washington and Roosevelt, last week, and in the process, they collected their second consecutive Metro Conference title.
The Brandon Valley wrestling squad experienced a few setbacks on the mats Saturday when they went up against some of South Dakota’s highest-ranked programs at the Pierre-hosted East-West Duals.
Brandon Valley ruled the mats during Aberdeen Central’s mid-afternoon triangular Friday and came away with two ESD Conference victories. The Lynx defeated the host Golden Eagles 40-25 and turned back Yankton 61-13, improving their dual record to 9-0.
