Her memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory. Visitation with the family present will take place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the South Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Sioux Falls.

Shirlene Engels, 86, of Sioux Falls, died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Legends on Lake Lorraine with her family by her side. Interment took place on Jan. 15, 2026, at the SD Veterans Cemetery. A memorial celebration for Shirlene will be held this spring.
