Letter to the Editor - Van Horn: Meet District 2 Democratic candidate Blake Rife on Sept. 12
We have a choice in District 2 this year.
In 2024, there wasn’t a Democrat on the ballot for State House in our district. This year, Blake Rife is stepping up to run, and I think people should take the time to get to know him before making their decision on who they will vote for this November.
Blake has been a teacher, farmer, and nurse. He has spent his career working with and caring for people, and I believe that experience is valuable when representing our community.
Blake is holding a Meet & Greet on Sept. 12 from 5-7 p.m. at McHardy Park in Brandon. It will be a chance for people to meet him, ask questions, and learn more about him.
You don’t have to agree with everything a candidate says to meet them. I think it’s healthy for our community when people are willing to listen to different perspectives and learn about the choices on their ballot.
A few of Blake’s top issues are affordability, education, and healthcare.
I hope people in District 2 will come out, meet Blake, ask questions, and give him a chance to introduce himself.
At the end of the day, voters deserve a choice. This year, we have one.
Sincerely,
Sawyer Van Horn
