Biz Bash, Kidpreneur Market is Saturday
Biz Bash and Kidpreneur Market is scheduled from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5 in the Splitrock Square parking lot. Biz Bash, an endeavor of the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, is an opportunity for local businesses and organizations to connect face-to-face with potential customers and build visibility in the Brandon Valley community.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are microwave popcorn, pizza sauce, saltine crackers, hard taco shells, small boxes of fruit snacks, jelly/jam, Manwich, egg noodles, laundry detergent (56 ounces).
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Brandon Realtor, Northwest Tire team up in Lead Learn Drive event
Brandon Valley teen drivers (ages 14-18) are invited to take part in Lead Learn Drive, a car maintenance and training event from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at Northwest Tire, 1321 E. Redwood Blvd., in Brandon.
The free workshop will enlighten teen drivers on how to change a tire, pre-drive inspections and car maintenance basics. Participants should bring their own vehicle to participate in the hands-on training activities. Parents are also welcome to attend with their teenager.

Brandon Senior Citizens
The Brandon Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday at the VFW for Bingo, cards socializing and coffee. All seniors are welcome.
Brandon VFW ‘Chase the Ace’ returns this week
Brandon Three Rivers VFW Post 4726 “Chase the Ace” returns Thursday, Sept. 3 with an entirely new drawing.
Tickets are sold from 5-7 p.m. on Thursdays, and at 7:30 p.m. one ticket is drawn, to receive 10 percent of that night’s pot and the chance to draw for the Ace of Diamonds.
Walker to give talk on ‘250 Years of Civics and News’ on Oct. 25
Journalist Carson Walker, CEO of South Dakota News Watch, will be the featured speaker for the Brandon Historical Society’s Sunday, Oct. 25 history night. The event begins at 6 p.m. at the BVHS Performing Arts Center. His nonpolitical discussion is titled “250 Years of Civics and News” and examines the role/importance of the media in/on civic engagement. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
