Daylight Saving Time starts Sunday
It’s time to spring ahead! That’s right, we’ll lose an hour of sleep as we turn the clocks ahead one-hour Saturday evening, March 7, as 2 a.m. Sunday is the seasonal start of Daylight Saving Time.
As a reminder, this is also a good time to change batteries in smoke alarms.
CHS plans ‘Ag Day’ event at Pavilion
CHS is hosting a day of hands-on ag-related activities for children and families at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 7.
Brandon Food Pantry list has new needs
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are Rice-a-Roni, pizza crust mixes, mustard, small boxes of fruit snacks, bottled Ranch dressing, bottled salad dressings and deodorant.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may be dropped off at the BAFP, Jones Family Eye Care and Lewis in Brandon.
Tickets on sale for BV Hall of Fame banquet
Tickets are now on sale for the 2026 Brandon Valley Athletic Hall of Fame banquet on Saturday, March 28 at the Holiday Inn Express in Brandon. Social hour begins at 6 p.m. followed by the meal at 7 and the induction program at 7:30.
Tickets are $25 each and are available at the BVHS office or by calling (605) 582-3211.
This year’s inductees are Coach Larry Beesley, Greg Beesley, Krista (Bickley) Rasmussen, Ben Schultz and the 2014 state champion BVHS dance team.
Veterans Benefits Seminar at Brandon VFW March 21
The Brandon VFW will host a Veterans Benefits Seminar from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Post Home, 321 S. Main Ave. The seminar is for veterans and/or spouses of veterans.
Unlike previous seminars, tables will be set up for attendees to individually visit with representatives from the VA Hospital, SD Veterans Affairs, Futurity First to cover Medicaid/Retirement planning, and more.
Breakfast at Bethany
The next Breakfast at Beth-., Brandon) is 9 a.m. Friday, March 13. A free will offering will be taken, and proceeds will go to the Bethany Foundation.
These breakfasts are served the second Friday of every month and are open to the public.
