Risty to talk on Little Big Horn
Brandon Valley High School history teacher Jeremy Risty will give a presentation on the history of Little Big Horn at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15 at the Valley Springs American Legion.
Refreshments and a time for Q&A will follow. The event is free and open to the public.
Circuit’s February
food drive underway
Donations of non-perishable foods are being accepted at Circuit’s annual February Food Drive in Brandon. Donations may be dropped off during business hours, 5:30-7:30 a.m. and 3-7 Monday-Friday,and 7 a.m.-12 noon Saturdays.
Donations will be accepted through the end of February.
BASA collecting
donations for Pay it Forward rummage sale
Brandon Area Soccer Association will host a “Pay it Forward” rummage sale on Sunday, March 8. They are asking for donations of soccer gear – cleats, shin guards, BASA clothing and uniforms, cones, agility equipment, etc. Proceeds raised from the sale will support BASA and young athletes having access to equipment at an affordable price.
Donations can be dropped off in a bin at Sunshine Foods in Brandon.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are bottled juice, shampoo, bar soap, toothpaste, paper goods (Kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates).
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may be dropped off at the BAFP, at Jones Family Eye Care and Lewis in Brandon.
Next Brandon Farmers Market is Saturday
The next Brandon Farmers Market is Saturday, Feb. 14 at Faith United Church, 800 N. Splitrock Blvd. The Farmers Market is open 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and is scheduled for two more indoor markets, March 14 and April 11.

VFW, KofC to team up on Family Bingo Night
Brandon VFW Post 4726 is teaming up with the Knights of Columbus Splitrock Council for a family bingo night starting at 7 p.m. Saturday. Feb. 21 at the VFW, 321 S. Main Ave. Cards are 25 cents each.
