Austin Douglas Waller was born Sept/ 30, 1993, in Lake City, Iowa to Karen (McColley) Waller and Doug Waller. He was a happy little boy with a smile on his face. A few years later Lizzie joined the family and followed her big brother everywhere. Next came twins, Christina and Brian. Christina would say that while the average person needs eight hugs a day, one from her brother Austin would be enough for an entire day because he was the best hugger! Brian became Austin’s road trip partner, where they would sing together and jam out whenever their favorite songs were played.

Austin attended grade school in Iowa, and then moved to Brandon, S.D., graduating from Brandon Valley High School in 2012. He enjoyed taking advanced math and science classes, playing video games with his friends and being in the choir. He used his STI degree in business management and accounting at Kum & Go and Solutions Property Management. He was interested in cyber security and returned to college to continue his studies. Austin had a big heart and would assist anybody that needed his help. Always a very hard and caring worker, he found a job as a custodian at the Sioux Falls Public Schools that he could do while continuing his education.

He loved stopping in to see his Mom at the bank and meeting her friends. One of the benefits of working at the school was the fact that it was another connection with his Dad who also works there and would stop in and see him on occasion. He also enjoyed the opportunity to partake in large family gatherings to play cards and other games.

Austin left us all too soon on Nov. 20th, 2023. He will be missed forever by his loving parents, Doug and Karen; his siblings Lizzie Waller of Minneapolis, Minn., Christina Waller (significant other, Taite Heinz) of Sioux Falls, and Brian Waller, of Sioux Falls; his grandpa, Adrian McColley of Fort Dodge, Iowa; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lorraine McColley; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Mardella Waller.
