Michael A. Portinga, 56

Michael Alan Portinga, 56, Sioux Falls, died Thursday, June 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family, after a valiant battle with cancer.

Visitation with family will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2023, with a short service at 7 p.m., at Heartland Funeral Home. Inurnment will be Thursday, June 22, at the Beaver Valley Cemetery. 

Mike is survived by his wife, JoAnn; children, Corey Portinga, Dalton Portinga, Makenna Portinga, Bradley Barton, and Lindsey Barton; his mother, Carol Portinga; sister, Michele Portinga; nephews, Chris Petersen and Joey Petersen; niece, Kaitlin Valdez; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, and extended family.
