WNBA champ to address Prayer Breakfast crowd

Two-time WNBA champion Olympia Scott will speak about overcoming adversity at the 9th annual Brandon Area Prayer Breakfast.
Connecting with God, the community, Olympia Scott and egg bake are just a few of the perks to partake in at the Brandon Area Prayer Breakfast, set for 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at Brandon Valley High School.
Open to all ages and faiths, the event will include a variety of thought-provoking prayers for schools, families, communities, businesses and more, led by local leaders.
The keynote address will be delivered by Olympia Scott, a Christian author, motivational speaker, wife, mother and former star in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).
Scott played 10 years of professional basketball in the WNBA and 11 seasons overseas. The first player to win two WNBA championships with two different teams, she now travels the country as a motivational speaker.
Scott will be available after the event to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures.
Breakfast will include fresh fruit, assorted rolls and donuts, egg bake, coffee and milk.

The prayer breakfast is sponsored by the Brandon Valley Ministerial Association with assistance from community volunteers. Profits will go to local charities.
