BV Football Moms’ Night is July 27
Moms of Brandon Valley football players (grades 9-12) are invited to a fun, informative night on Monday, July 27 to learn more about the game. Grade 9 camp is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and grades 10-12 is from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Moms are welcome to watch camp activities, but the action just for moms starts at 8:30 p.m. in the BVHS weight room (South Door 14 near the large storage containers). A brief meeting starts off the night, where moms will learn about program goals for the players, and will then gear up to tackle (safely) their sons onto the pole vault pad. Moms will wear helmets and shoulder pads and have the opportunity to attempt a field goal kick. Coaches will also answer questions in small, position groups.
ReChurch collecting school supplies
ReChurch in Brandon is collecting donations of school supplies that will be given away to Brandon Valley students later this summer.
The goal is to provide 150 backpacks, filled with supplies, to local children.
Requested supplies are pencil boxes, markers, whiteboard eraser, erasers, Kleenex, bottles of glue, colored pencils, wide-ruled notebooks, pens (red, back, blue), hand sanitizer, headphones, folders, watercolor paints, rulers, Clorox wipes.
Next Cars and Coffee is July 25
Brandon Cars and Coffee at Annie’s Coffee and Roastery, 721 N. Splitrock Blvd., Brandon, is planned from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, July 25. Owners of classic, street rod, rat rod, hot rod or any cool ride are invited to mingle with neighbors while enjoying a favorite Saturday morning wake-up beverage. Participants are also reminded that parking lot burnouts are prohibited.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pickles, jams/jellies, flour, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar, seasonings and spices.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may be dropped off at the BAFP, at Jones Family Eye Care and Lewis in Brandon.
