BLC Community BBQ is June 3
Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd., is the place to be 4:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 for the BLC Community BBQ, a WELCA fundraiser.
Menu includes smoked BBQ pulled pork, walking taco and hot dog meals. Pulled pork may also be ordered by the pound, and Family Treats Ice Cream truck will be on site 5-8 p.m.
Worship and Vacation Bible School begins at 6 p.m.
Cars and Coffee is coming to Brandon June 13
Cars and Coffee is coming to Brandon! It’s short and sweet with no admission fees or trophy drama. Come to see some of the cool cars, trucks and motorcycles from the local area. Anyone who owns a unique mode of motor transportation is invited to display from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, June 13 at Annie’s Coffee Bar & Roastery, 721 N. Splitrock Blvd. Plans are in the works for more Cars & Coffee events every other weekend, weather permitting, into September.
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are pickles, jams/jellies, flour, sugar, powdered sugar, brown sugar, seasonings and spices.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may be dropped off at the BAFP, at Jones Family Eye Care and Lewis in Brandon.
Pie & Ice Cream Social with the Historical Society
The Brandon Historical Society, in conjunction with the Minnehaha County Historical Society), will host a Pie and Ice Cream Social at the picnic shelter at Pioneer Park in Brandon on Thursday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a short presentation on the history of Brandon. It is free and open to the public, with the BVHS Community Room as the alternate site in case of inclement weather.
Register for Aug. 15 Deckert-Garrow Golf Scramble
Registration is open for the first annual Deckert-Garrow Golf Scramble on Saturday, Aug. 15. The four-person Scramble will be played at Hidden Valley Golf Course, teeing off with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $320 per team and is open to golfers 18 years and older.
