Brandon Food Pantry list has new needs
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry Rice-a-Roni, pizza crust mixes, mustard, small boxes of fruit snacks, bottled Ranch dressing, bottled salad dressings and deodorant.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may be dropped off at the BAFP, at Jones Family Eye Care and Lewis in Brandon.
Beck to give talk on Stonewall Jackson
The Sunday, March 15 Military History program hosted by the Valley Springs American Legion, will be presented by Brandon resident, Kari Beck. Beck’s talk on Stonewall Jackson will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Refreshments and a time for Q&A will follow the presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
Veterans Benefits Seminar at Brandon VFW is March 21
The Brandon VFW will host a Veterans Benefits Seminar from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 21 at the Post Home, 321 S. Main Ave. The seminar is for veterans and/or spouses of veterans.
Unlike previous seminars, tables will be set up for attendees to individually visit with representatives from the VA Hospital, SD Veterans Affairs, Futurity First to cover Medicaid/Retirement planning, etc.
KofC to host Hockey Challenge
The Splitrock Council #13400 Knights of Columbus is hosting a Hockey Challenge at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29 at the IceCats Arena, 1500 Aspen Park Blvd. The Hockey Challenge, which is free, is open to kids ages 10-17. Participants will rotate through on-ice skill stations to test shooting, puck handling and skating. No registration is required.
A walking taco feed will also be available from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Brandon Lutheran Vendor Fair is March 28
Brandon Lutheran Church Vendor Fair is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 28 at the church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. There will be handmade crafts, food and beverages available for sale.
