Aug. 9 golf benefit for Chris Terveer
A 4-person golf scramble benefit and silent auction for Chris Terveer is set for 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9 at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Brandon. Cost is $200 per team and includes cart and meal.

Current needs at Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are bottled juice, microwave popcorn, envelopes of muffin mixes, small boxes of PopTarts, Manwich, Hamburger Helper, small cans of beef stew, box mix of Jello and pudding, granola bars, Kleenex.
The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
B&G Milkyway stores competing for
Avalanche title
B&G Milkyway stores in Brandon, Sioux Falls, Tea and Harrisburg are competing in the brand’s first Avalanche Battle. The Battle runs through Aug. 31. Flavor entries are: Brandon, Cinnamon Pretzel; Tea, Churro; Harrisburg, Frosted Animal Cookie; Sioux Falls stores – 12th Street, Hot Tamale; 41st Street, Chocolate Chip Pancake; 69th & Louise, Caramel Corn Crase; Harmodon Park, Blueberry Muffin; Sycamore Avenue, Salted Nut Roll; 69th & Cliff, Mr. Beast Peanut Butter Feastables.
Customers will vote for their favorite through a Facebook poll. The winning location will be announced Sept. 1 and will receive a “champion” sign to display at their store.
August sobriety
checkpoints
The South Dakota Highway Patrol will conduct sobriety checkpoints in 14 different counties during the month of August. The checkpoints are planned for the counties of Beadle, Brown, Codington, Fall River, Jones, Kingsbury, Lake, Lyman, Minnehaha, Moody, Pennington, Roberts, Sanborn, and Yankton.
