Supe's On: Summertime is deep-cleaning time at BVSD

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD Superintendent

As a school district, we utilize summer to deep-clean facilities, perform building maintenance, and conduct upgrades. I would like to thank our Custodial, Buildings & Grounds, and Maintenance Staff for their valuable work during the summer break. They perform the necessary summer work that prepares facilities for the upcoming school year and provides our students with clean quality learning environments that result in success.

We have several substantial projects scheduled for the coming months. Robert Bennis Elementary flooring will be replaced, and other buildings will receive various upgrades in addition to the large construction projects of Burkman Valley Elementary and the Middle School Classroom Addition. Along with those large projects, we will have many smaller building maintenance projects taking place this summer. Please, stay out of construction areas and obey all safety signage. We appreciate your attention to these safety precautions.

As summer break gets underway, do not forget to head to the library and find a great book! Brandon Valley students reaching their summer reading goal are eligible for a Brandon Pizza Ranch gift card, in addition to the Siouxland Library Summer Reading Program prizes. We would like to extend a special thank you to Siouxland Library and Pizza Ranch of Brandon for their active role in promoting literacy.

Go Lynx!
