Supe's On: Attending P-T Conferences is critical to student success

By:
Dr. Jarod Larson, BVSD Superintendent

We would like to extend a GIANT thank you to our Lynx families who participated in Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences earlier this week in the Brandon Valley School District.

An actively engaged adult is critical to the academic success of a child. Extensive research has shown that students achieve more when their parents or guardians are involved in their education. In addition to increased academic achievement, having an actively engaged adult also positively influences a child’s attitude toward school and promotes appropriate classroom behavior. Further, family engagement fosters a child’s positive mindset toward lifelong learning.

Attending and participating in parent-teacher conferences is one way to demonstrate the importance of education to a child. Communication with your child’s teachers is not and should not be limited to conferences. In the event you have questions moving forward for the remainder of the school term, please contact your child’s teachers. Together, we promote student success.

Go Lynx!
