Speedway deadline passes with no deal

According to the Badlands Motor Speedway website, the track will not be returning to its former owner.
Speedway owner Chuck Brennan said late last year that longtime owner Steve Rubin was working to buy back the Brandon racetrack.
Rubin operated the speedway for almost three decades. His family sold it to Brennan in 2015, who invested millions of dollars of improvements before closing it in 2017.
Rubin requested 60 days to compile investors with the plan of reopening the 60-year-old speedway under the Huset’s name Memorial Day weekend.
But a March 1 deadline came and went without a deal done.
Badlands posted on its website that the property is available for $9.45 million or a $75,000 per month lease.
Owner financing is available with a 25 percent down payment and interest only or interest-free payments over five years, it said.
