Academic Recognition, Dean’s lists

South Dakota Mines is celebrating academic excellence this spring, honoring 763 high-achieving students for their hard work and dedication. A total of 653 students earned a place on the Spring 2025 Dean’s List, and 110 students were recognized on the Academic Recognition List. 

The Dean’s List recognition is for full-time students while the Academic Recognition List is for part-time students.

To merit Dean’s List recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for the semester. Full-time students must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours for the term. To earn a place on the Academic Recognition List, part-time students must have earned between three and 11 credit hours that term in addition to a 3.5 GPA.

Area students included on the list are: Brandon – Tristan Niewenhuis, John Pellman, Adam Smook, Ethan Thompson, Logan Thompson, Luke Wickersham, Josie Wickersham; Garretson – Braden Biuettner, Sage Solheim.

 

NWC spring dean’s list includes seven local students

Seven local Northwestern College students have earned Academic Dean’s List honors for the spring 2025 semester. From Brandon are Abigail Blok*, 2025 business administration/marketing graduate; Peyton Carroll, senior business administration/management major; Kylie Foss*, senior biology-health professions major; Keaton Jensen*, junior exercise major; Emily Outland, sophomore English teaching and theatre major; from Valley Springs are Nichole Hansen, senior public relations major; and Allison Sjaarda*, senior music major.

The Dean’s List is comprised of students who achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 414 students qualified for the Dean’s List. Of them, 260 students earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher and are considered Collegiate Scholars, designated with an asterisk.

Southeast Technical College conferred degrees to 237 students at the May 9 commencement ceremony. Students were awarded Associate of Applied Science degrees, diplomas and certificates, depending on the program of completion.
