Geraldine “Pat” L. Wehrkamp, 93, of Sioux Falls, died peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Bethany Home in Sioux Falls. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Church of St. Mary, Sioux Falls. Visitation will be from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls, with a Liturgical Wake Service beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Geraldine “Pat” Louise Fischer was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Britton, S.D., to Lambert and Adelaide (Meyer) Fischer. She lived in Genesco, N.D., for 13 years, then moved to Watertown, where she continued her education, graduating from high school in 1950. She came to Sioux Falls and worked at John Morrell in the IBM department.
She married Dale R. Wehrkamp on Feb. 16, 1952, in Sioux Falls. Dale worked at Queen City Wholesale for 10 years, and in 1961, they bought Queen City Inc., with his brother and wife. Pat worked at Queen City until it closed in 2016.
Pat was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Golf League at Elmwood. When she wasn’t working, Pat enjoyed fishing, going to their lake cabin or the river, bowling, golfing, and especially playing cards.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Dr. Scott (Judy) Wehrkamp, Dr. Jeff (Sandy) Wehrkamp, Mike (Mistie) Wehrkamp, Joli (Lance) Ageton, Tim (Denise) Wehrkamp, and Jerri (Todd) Knutson; 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Jan Fischer and Terry Fischer; a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Wehrkamp; her daughter, Jan; granddaughters, Lyndsey and Liz Wehrkamp; brothers, John, Bert (Bev), Duke, and Don Fischer; and sisters, Marcie (Mel) Nester and Mary Ann (Jim) Grace; and her nephew, Mark Nester.
