Council to vote on Ward 3 council rep Monday

Mayor Larry Beesley and the Brandon City Council will interview a trio of Ward 3 residents following their briefing meeting this Thursday.
Chuck Parsons, James Starzl and Tim Wakefield have all expressed interest in filling the vacant Ward 3 chair. The council vacancy was created last month when health reasons forced Alderman Roger Brooks to resign his position.
The cty council will vote on Brooks’ replacement, which is scheduled for Monday’s council meeting.
The new Ward 3 council rep will serve until his council’s reorganizational meeting on May 7.
Any Ward 3 resident interested in serving the remaining two years of the term must file a nomination petition. If more than one petition is filed, the council representative will be decided in an April 10 election by Ward 3 registered voters.
