The Lady Lynx tied the Roosevelt Rough Riders 3-3 on the softball diamond Sept. 5 at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls.
A home run by Mya Bunker in the bottom of the fifth inning scored the tying run. Bunker, who had a trio of RBIs, went 1-for-3 at the plate, of which her homer supplied the all-important tying run. Grace Bowar produced a pair of hits.
Bunker was also instrumental on the mound, pitching five innings and in that time frame, struck out a trio of Roosevelt batters.
With two runners on and two outs, Roosevelt scored two on a single line drive before the third out was secured in the top of the first.
The Lynx got on the board in the bottom of the second. The scoring drive was started by Emily Moschell, who fired a line drive up the middle. Brooke Heinen next got the easy route on base with walk before the Lynx took advantage of a Roosevelt error, giving Jeniah Johnson the green light home.
The Rough Riders answered back in the third on a hard-hit grounder.
The Lady Lynx take on Watertown at Aspen Park Thursday, Sept. 14. Game time is 6 p.m.
