Brandon Expo, Kidpreneurs Market set for Saturday

Staff report
Whether you support shopping locally, giving kids creative outlets or you’re simply curious about what the community has to offer, Saturday’s Brandon Expo promises to deliver.
The free event will feature more than 40 booths by local vendors and Brandon’s first Kidpreneurs Market. The market will showcase local kids debuting their products and services, from handmade crafts to dog-walking, at their own booths.
“It is the mission of the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce to encourage kids to think creatively about new and innovative products or service ideas, believe they can start a business and be an entrepreneur, and learn more about what it takes to start and run a business,” said Kim Cerwick, CEO/president of the Brandon Valley Area Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the expo.
The Brandon Expo caters to kids in other ways, too; the gym will be filled with bouncy houses and crafts for youngsters. Plus, a kids’ coloring contest will give budding artists a chance to win prizes in three age groups.
The ninth annual Brandon Expo will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Brandon Valley High School commons, located at 301 S. Splitrock Blvd. Kidpreneurs Market will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To register your business or organization for a booth or to enter your child in the free-of-charge Kidpreneurs Market, go to brandonvalleychamber.com. Businesses need not be Chamber members to participate.
