Christmas in July is tonight at BLC
Brandon Lutheran Church is hosting a “Christmas in July” event from 5-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. Ten food trucks will be set up in the church parking lot. WELCA will also sell home-baked goodies and hand-crafted items, along with a silent auction.
Christmas worship – complete with popular Christmas hymns – starts at 6:15 p.m.
The event is open to the public.
BFD to host open house Thursday
The Brandon Fire Department invites the public to an open house from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 11 at the Fire Hall, 401 N. Sioux Blvd. There will be activities for kids and adults, free food and the opportunity to talk with local volunteer firefighters.

deadline nears
The deadline to purchase bus passes to assure first day of school ridership is Friday, July 26. Bus passes are purchased on an “yearly” basis. The cost per student is $175 for the school year, with a family maximum of $400.
For out-of-district open-enrolled students, the annual cost is $325 per student. There is no family maximum for out-of-district riders.
Two more transportation open houses are scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 18 and Friday, July 26 at the transportation facility, 812 E. Redwood Blvd. Tickets may also be purchased online at the BVSD Webmall.
Bus passes purchased after the July 26 deadline will not be eligible for transportation earlier than Monday, Sept. 30.

Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry
Current needs at the Brandon Food Pantry are bottled juice, microwave popcorn, envelopes of muffin mixes, small boxes of PopTarts, Manwich, Hamburger Helper, small cans of beef stew, box mix of Jello and pudding, granola bars, Kleenex.
To make appointments for pickups or donations, call 582-7001. The BAFP is open from 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Used eye glasses and hearing aids for the Brandon Lions Club may also be dropped off at the BAFP.
Brandon Sr. Citizens meet Thursdays
The Brandon Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday at the VFW for Bingo, cards socializing and coffee.
All seniors are welcome.
