From the Pulpit: Celebrate the victory we have in Jesus

We are a few weeks from Easter weekend where we celebrate the victory we have in Jesus. Scholars are not exactly sure when each story in the gospels happen, but we hear countless stories of Jesus being with people. At this point Jesus is doing life with his disciples, traveling around the area of the Sea of Galilee, and doing many miracles.

Several miracles include children getting healed from demon possession (Matt. 17), men receiving their sight (Matt. 20), and Jesus feeding the multitudes (Matt. 14 & 15). There are many that are unrecorded in the gospels. All of these moments include someone claiming victory over their life and situation.

The disciples continued to learn and be amazed at the power of Jesus. Everywhere Jesus goes there are more crowds of people gathering. People are swarming to receive anything from Jesus. Even in the story of Jesus feeding the 4,000 (Matt. 15) it says he was there for three full days. Can you imagine sitting on a hillside for three days because you are desperate to get a touch from Jesus?

As we approach Easter weekend, let’s be like the multitudes of people and draw close to Jesus. Let’s spend time in His presence and pray for miracles. Through Jesus we can receive life, healing, restoration and more because of what he did on the cross.
