Brandon students
awarded degrees from Northern State University
The accomplishments of four students from Brandon were celebrated Dec. 14 at Northern State University’s Winter Commencement. The local grads are and their respective degrees are: Sage Bultje, B.S. Biology (Summa Cum Laude); Connor Knecht, M.S. Accounting Analytics; Megan Pickering, Accounting Analytics; and Jennifer Riegel, M.S.Ed Instructional Design in E-Learning.
Roggow awarded degree from MSU-Mankato
Zach Roggow, of Renner, was one of 1,696 students to be awarded a degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, at the end of the fall 2024 semester. Commencement ceremonies were held Saturday, Dec. 14. Roggow graduated Cum Laude (3.8 GPA and higher) with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing.

included on Mount Marty Dean’s List
Three students from Brandon – Sara Johnson, Hunter Marso and Ella Ray – were recognized on Mount Marty University’s Fall 2024 Dean’s List. Students who achieve a 3.5 GPA or greater based on a minimum of 12 credits for courses in which letter grades were assigned qualify for the honor.

Chiropractic Dean’s List
Emily Malsom, of Garretson, was named to the 2024 summer trimester Dean’s List at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Main Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
Local students named to USF Dean’s List
Five-hundred fifty University of Sioux Falls students achieved Fall 2024 Dean’s List status, including a number of Brandon Valley area students.
Students from Brandon are: Emma Dewitt, graphic design; Ellie Erickson, criminal justice; Elizabeth Kopp, exercise science; Brady Koupal, business administration; Julia Kreutner, exercise science and psychology; Jordon Oehme, accounting; and Shane Thompson, business administration; from Garretson are: Joy Fry, social work; Kalista Graham, elementary education; Madden Lardy, business administration and media studies; and Delaney Olson, graphic design; from Renner: Brandon Havlovic, criminal justice; and from Sioux Falls: Mara Nelson, business administration and media studies; and Ryan Presler, history and political science and applied mathematics.

Three students from Brandon and Valley Springs completed their degree studies at Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls. The graduates are Amanda Hewitt, Brandon, LPN, diploma; Jennifer Hartman, Brandon, Registered Nurse, Associate degree; Madison Goertz, Brandon, Computer Technician, diploma; and Jason Nelson, Valley Springs, Software Support Specialist, diploma.
Two from Brandon on Morningside University Dean’s List
Janessa Huisman and Addison Meyers*, both of Brandon, are among the 475 students enrolled at Morningside University to be named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2024-25 academic year.
Students who achieve a 3.67-grade point average or better and complete at least 12 credits of coursework with no grade below a C- are named to the Dean›s List, 4.0-grade point averages are denoted with an asterisk (*).
