BV IceCats’ Squirt teams compete in weekend tournaments

The BV IceCats’ Squirt B and C teams were in action over the weekend.

Squirt B

The Squirt B IceCats went 1-2-1 at the Sioux Center Squirt Showdown.

BV started strong with a win over Luverne, Minn., followed by a tie with Rushmore, Minn. BV’s third game of the weekend against Sioux Center, Iowa, didn’t go as planned, marking their first loss of the season.

BV’s final game was a rematch against Rushmore, with the winner advancing to the championship. The Ice Cats battled hard throughout the game, but ultimately suffered a heartbreaking loss. In the end, the IceCats placed third.

Scoring for BV were Jake Bennett, Kyan Tofteland, Luke Miles, Levi Otterblad, Elliott Storm, Carter Brown, Aiden Neth, Sawyer Quasney, and Keegan Reimer. Assists came from Storm, Bennett, Miles and Brown. Kaden Schenkel showed some impressive defensive skills, while James Woestman was between the pipes with over 50 incredible saves.

Squirt C

It was a successful weekend for BV’s Squirt C crew. These kids showed heart, hustle, and a whole lot of teamwork from start to finish, capping it all off with a dominating 11-2 win on Sunday.

The team’s energy was high, passing was sharp, and the effort was there in every shift.
