McCulley named head coach of Cobblers football

Mike McCulley has been named as the next head football coach for the Rapid City Central Cobblers, pending school board approval.

“Coach McCulley is a proven winner, a relentless competitor, and a true culture builder,” said Central Activities Director Jordan Bauer. “He’s an innovative defensive mind and a leader who develops young people both on and off the field.”

McCulley played football at Chadron State University where he was a member of three conference championship teams. He has over 15 years of coaching experience as an assistant coach at RCC and South Dakota School of Mines. During that time at Central High School he coached several all-state and all- conference players. For the past seven years, he has been coaching at SDSMT as a defensive assistant. While at SDSMT, he has helped the Rockers transition to the Division II level and become a competitive team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
