Staff report
The Valley Springs City Commission met Feb. 12  in the absence of City Finance Officer Sandy Severtson, who is recuperating from a Jan. 15 automobile accident.
Severtson is currently undergoing physical therapy, according to Valley Springs mayor Carl Moss, and Sandy Namanny is filling in at City Hall during Severtson’s recovery.
At last Tuesday’s meeting, the commissioners discussed dates for the city’s annual clean-up day and vet clinic. They also approved an in-home daycare permit as requested by Sara Kiefer, and gave the green light to two ordinances. The first one will re-zone two industrial tracts, while the second establishes a minimum size for single-family dwellings.
Commissioners are expected to set dates for the town’s 2019 lean-up day and vet clinic at their next meeting, which will be held at 6 p.m. March 12, at City Hall.
As always, commission meetings are open to the public.
