Staff report
A white pickup trick connected to a pedestrian hit-and-run in Corson last week was located early the next morning by county law enforcement, according to Sgt. Mark Jastram with the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident was reported at 10:19 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.
Sgt. Jastram said the pedestrians – a husband and wife – were reportedly struck by the pickup as it was backing out of the parking lot at Bottoms Up in Corson. The couple – Jeff and Linda Shomion – were transported to a Sioux Falls hospital for serious, but nonlife-threatening injuries, Jastram said.
The driver of the pickup left the scene of the accident, which Jastram said would constitute felony hit-and-run charges due to the pedestrian injuries.
Jastram said the incident remains under investigation, and updates will be made available on the county website, minnehahacounty.org.
