Three seats opening on Brandon City Council

One person has officially filed a petition for Brandon City Council yet, and a second incumbent has also taken out a petition to retain his or her seat.
Tim Jorgensen, Ward 1, filed for another term Tuesday, and Vickie David, Ward 3, has picked up a nominating form. Jorgensen’s position is a four-year term, and David’s is a two-year assignment.
A four-year seat representing Ward 3 is also expiring this spring. The chair is currently held by Chuck Parsons, who has stated he does not plan to seek another term.
Nominating forms are available at Brandon City Hall and can also be downloaded on the city’s website, cityofbrandon.org.
Petitions are due to City Hall by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28.
An election, if warranted, will be held April 14.
