Audition for MCAP spring show

Auditions for the Mighty Corson Art Players spring show, “The Psychic,” by Sam Bobrick, are set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, and at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Corson Playhouse.

BVSD Early Childhood Screening is Thursday

Brandon Valley School District will conduct its annual Early Childhood Developmental Screening from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 at Brandon Elementary School.

Screenings are free for all children from birth to age 4 who live in the BVSD. South Dakota School for the Deaf will also be providing free hearing screenings at this time.

Kindergarten screening for any child who is eligible to attend this fall will be held Feb. 28-March 11. Parents/guardians should contact the office of the school their child will attend.

TOPS meets Mondays

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) meets at 9 a.m. Mondays at Brandon Lutheran Church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. Join the group to set SMART goals that are attainable and take your life back, both mentally and physically.

BV Hall of Fame inductees announced

The 1974 Lynx football team, three individuals and the 3200m boys relay team will be inducted into the Brandon Valley Hall of Fame this year. The individuals are Scott Novak (Class of 1981), Kory Scholten (1989) and Jane Swenson (2008). Members of the 2010 record-setting relay are Ben Schultz, Blaze Kilian, Bobby Brockmueller and the late Billy Brockmueller.

The Hall of Fame banquet is Saturday, March 26 at the Brandon Holiday Inn. It begins with a 6 p.m. social hour, dinner at 7 p.m. and the program at 7:30 p.m.

Former Hall of Fame inductees will be recognized Feb. 25 at a home double-header.

Tickets are available at the high school office.

Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed puts out call for donations

The Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed committee is accepting donations of wild game and live and silent auction items for its 2022 wild game feed and auction on Saturday, Feb. 12 at the VFW.

The wild game feed – held the Saturday evening before the Super Bowl – is Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Brandon VFW.
