Bingo at Brandon VFW this Saturday

Join in the fun of family bingo night at the Brandon VFW beginning at 7 p.m Saturday, Jan. 8. Cards are just 25 cents each and games will be played through 10 p.m.


BVHA Ladies League is Wednesday nights

Brandon Valley Hockey Association Ladies League invites all women to learn and play ice hockey from 7-8 p.m. Wednesdays at the McHardy Park outdoor rink. The league is open to all levels of skaters/players.

Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed puts out call for donations

The Ed Polzine Wild Game Feed committee is accepting donations of wild game and live and silent auction items for its 2022 wild game feed and auction. The wild game feed – always held the Saturday evening before the Super Bowl – is Saturday, Feb. 12 at the Brandon VFW.


VS Legion Soup Supper is Jan. 21

Valley Springs American Legion will be serving up their first soup supper of the new year from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21.

On the menu that evening will be chili, ham and bean soup, and a soup by Mindy. There will also be chips, corn bread, and hot dogs for the kids.

Volunteers are welcome with preparations starting at 2:30 p.m. through cleanup (approximately 7:30 p.m.)


Applications now open for SFACF scholarships

The application period for scholarships from the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation is now open for students from throughout the state at Scholarships are available for students pursuing undergraduate, graduate and technical degrees. 

The online application features an interactive search-and-match feature, designed to make it easier for students to find scholarships for which they are eligible. Scholarship awards range from $400-$10,000. Most scholarship applications are due by March 15, 2022. Last year, the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation awarded more than $450,000 in scholarships to area students.
