Talk of the Town: Jan. 19, 2022

Hwy. 11 Corridor Study public meeting is Jan. 25

The South Dakota Department of Transportation will host a meeting from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Brandon.

The primary driver for completing the SD 11 corridor study is the need to repair or replace aging pavement on segments of SD 11. SDDOT staff regularly investigates conditions along state highways looking for pavement cracking, chipping/fraying at joints, joins that missing sealing material and rutting in. In the corridor, SDDOT reports segments with each of these conditions, which combine to suggest rehabilitation within the next seven to 10 years.

The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriate typical section and lane configuration to be provided during any reconstruction to accommodate the anticipated traffic growth as development continues in this area.
