Risen Savior
Christmas Cantata
Risen Savior will present its Christmas cantata, “Christmas is Coming – Sing for Joy” at three different venues in December.
The cantata will first be presented at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Bethany Meadows; at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17 at Risen Savior; and at 7 p.m. on Dec. 17 at St. Rose of Lima in Garretson.
While there is no charge for admission, a free will offering will be taken at the door.
Wild game
donations sought
Brandon Valley Optimist Club is gearing up for their annual Wild Game Feed, set for Jan. 8-9, 2018, at 212-The Boiling Point in Brandon. Donations of fowl, deer, elk, fish, etc., are now being accepted. To donate, contact Todd Winkel at 582-5822.
WELCA Advent Brunch
Brandon Lutheran Women of the ELCA will host their annual Advent Brunch, “The Greatest Gift,” at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. The event features devotions and prayer, Advent brunch, door prizes, raffles and entertainment by Castle and Connor.
Tickets are $8 each and may be purchased before and after Wednesday evening worship services, or by calling Becky Heinitz at 582-4035 or Barb Buck at 582-7447.
Brandon Senior Citizens
The Brandon Senior Citizens meet weekly at 12:30 p.m. at the Three Rivers VFW Post 4726 in Brandon. The group also enjoys a $6 catered meal every third Thursday of the month at 12 p.m., also at the VFW.
Jesse James Players
stage dinner theatre
The Jesse James Players of Garretson are staging a holiday mystery dinner theatre, “The Golden Girls,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9 at the American Legion in Garretson. Friday’s dinner theatre will feature a spaghetti dinner and dessert for $20; a grilled steak dinner and dessert are paired with Saturday’s show for $30.
