Wild game donations sought
Brandon Valley Optimist Club is gearing up for their annual Wild Game Feed, set for Jan. 8-9, 2018, at 212-The Boiling Point in Brandon. Donations of fowl, deer, elk, fish, etc., are now being accepted.  To donate, contact Todd Winkel at 582-5822. 
Proceeds from the wild game feed will go to the Brandon Valley School District’s “Angel Fund.”
 
WELCA Advent Brunch
Brandon Lutheran Women of the ELCA will host their annual Advent Brunch, “The Greatest Gift,” at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at the church, 600 E. Holly Blvd. The event features devotions and prayer, Advent brunch, door prizes and entertainment by Castle and Connor. Raffle tickets ($1 each or six for $5) will be sold for a quilt, hand-painted plate, handcrafted wooden cross and Christmas runner.
Tickets are $8 each and may be purchased in between Sunday worship services and Wednesday evening worship services, or by calling Becky Heinitz at 582-4035 or Barb Buck at 582-7447.
 
Brandon Senior Citizens
The Brandon Senior Citizens meet weekly at 12:30 p.m. at the Brandon VFW. The group also enjoys a $6 catered meal every third Thursday of the month at 12 p.m., also at the VFW.
 
Jesse James Players stage dinner theatre 
The Jesse James Players of Garretson are staging a holiday mystery dinner theatre, “The Golden Girls,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 8 and 9 at the American Legion in Garretson. Friday’s dinner theatre will feature a spaghetti dinner and dessert for $20; a grilled steak dinner and dessert are paired with Saturday’s show for $30.
Tickets are available at Family Floors and Furniture in Brandon, The Treasure Chest in Garretson or by calling (605) 321-3758. Seating is limited.
 
BAFP’s November needs
The Brandon Area Food Pantry needs for November are taco sauce, Pop Tarts stuffing, flour, sugar, pancake mix and syrup, and assorted canned pie mix.
Before donating food, please check expiration dates. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
