Brandon TOPS program reorganizes
A new Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) program has organized in Brandon. The group meets at 6 p.m. Mondays at Brandon Lutheran Church (upstairs in room 123). Annual dues are $32 and weekly dues are $1. Weigh-ins begin at 6 p.m. followed by a short program. Meetings will last one hour.

Join in planning of Loyalty Day Parade
Brandon’s 54th annual Loyalty Day Parade will step off at 1 p.m. Sunday May 5, once again starting from the Brandon Valley High School parking lot.
This year’s theme is “Salute to America.”
The next planning meeting begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at the Brandon VFW. The public is encouraged to join in the planning process.
 
BV School Board filings open April 9
Nominating petitions for election to the Brandon Valley Board of Education may be circulated starting Tuesday, April 9. Petitions must be filed by 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the BV Central Office.
There are two, three-year board vacancies, which are presently held by Renee Ullom and Cary Schroeder. Ullom has a 12-history on the board, while Schroeder is in his sixth year. If an election is warranted, voters will go to the polls Tuesday, June 18.
 
BAFP’s March needs
The needs for March are Dinty Moore beef stew, fruit snacks, boxed juices, BBQ sauce, microwave popcorn, salt & pepper (disposable shaker sets), pizza sauce. 
Before donating food items, please check expiration dates and that cans are not bulging from age and/or freezing. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
The BAFP is also accepting used eye glasses and hearing aids on behalf of the Brandon Lions Club.
The BAFP is open 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 406 Main Ave. To learn more, call 605-582-7001.
